Manic

Virginia water tamps hard soil into rivulets.

tears stream creek beds

crayfish peer out in the darkness

excitement-the flow-

it aches and bleeds

lightning in the October sky-

or my flaring neurons

burning off my eyebrows

Clock  ticking

my skin burns

impossible sorrow.

once  so distant

here to drown me once more.
